IN DETAIL Somewhere in there: thousands of shoes. Six, but only a few minutes earlier, who knows how many caretakers "pug utility cabinets were hung to dry, how many stiff bristles of a broom and a long line were drawn incorporated, counter, hold between metal clasps the ground clear, transparent? And within the regular rooms and suites, corporate, how many hand-knitted scarves and hats, as many well-broken in baseball Hats, headbands, stained with sweat ninth inning? What number of charcoal and landscapes and wrought iron of people whose initials mean nothing, as many last smile caught Filed in mahogany frame? And what about the thousands of losses without a name, little things that we surround ourselves with, to give texture effects on the banal, treats personal shields as we keep between our hopes and ultimately the fate we have – Oh, how, how many of those went up in flames before she hung hooks melt had on time?
The general mood of the poem is hopelessness. The tone is unfortunate, ill-omen-ed and miserable. The series of rhetorical questions, communicate Teenage tragic, sad tone. . . . . who knows / how many caretakers "Pug hanging / drying cabinets in utility to….. * Oh, how, / how many of these had gone up in flames, before they hung on the hook time to melt?.
